30 Jun |
Many car aficionados and followers may love cars and vehicles that were the very first in its batch. Classic car lovers would give an arm and a limb to own such vehicles. However, there is still quite a huge share of car lovers who would opt to purchase the most recent and the most high technology vehicles in the market.
As per the Mitsubishi Lancer, despite the fact that it has been in the market for ages already, it is still one of the most sought after vehicles. And its mother company has made sure that they restyle and refresh this vehicle. Mitsubishi makes sure that each time that they send a new model of the Mitsubishi Lancer to the streets and roads, it would be bringing with it something new and something high technology. This is most certainly why you would find quite a variety of Mitsubishi OEM parts in the market.
Mitsubishi has revealed that they are set on creating another updated model of the Mitsubishi Lancer. They claim that when it is on the streets and roads, the new vehicle would be all new. And, yes, it would now be boasting of a prowess that is very much like the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution model which can speed up to high digits.
During the 61st Frankfurt International Motor show, Mitsubishi brought the curtains down and unveiled the concept vehicle that would soon become the production car known as the all new Mitsubishi Lancer. Auto lovers have found the new one to be aggressive looking and it seems to be destined to attract younger drivers and would-be buyers. Of course, those who simply adore sports cars might also take a liking to the new Lancer.
1973 was the year when production for the Mitsubishi Lancer started. It was sent out as a compact vehicle with only one body style which was the sedan that held four doors.

Sell Your Car Online: Step 5, Making Search Engines Love Your Classified Ad
Car classifieds websites can help you sell your car or truck very quickly. In step 4 of this series, titled Sell Your Car Online: Step 4, Writing a Compelling Description of Your Automobile, you learned how to write a powerful description of your car that transforms the viewer of your classified ad from a browser to a buyer.
The fifth step in placing an ad is making your listing search engine friendly. A crash course in search engine optimization is in order. Being search engine friendly means the web page in question has all the correct hidden and visible parts that search engines are looking for. A web page must have the following to be considered search engine friendly:
– TITLE tag, which is shown in the title bar of the window (mine shows Google Microsoft Internet Explorer when visiting Google.com).
– META DESCRIPTION tag, which is only visible if you view the source code.
– HEADER tag, which displays text in a larger font than the rest of the page (just like the headline in a printed newspaper).
– Hyperlinks, which are simple text links that allow navigation on the internet.
– Emphasized text, which is text that is bolded, italicized, or underlined.
– Copywriting of at least 200 -250 words on the page (with a minimum number of images).
– An ALT tag for the first 3 images on your page, which displays when the image is not available.
– The ability for the search engine spiders to index the page.
– A URL that is static, not dynamic.
The key to search engine rankings is which keywords you use and where on the page you use them. For proper search engine optimization, your keyword should show up in the TITLE, the META DESCRIPTION, a HEADER, an ALT tag, a hyperlink, and an emphasized portion of text. Also your keyword should show up 2-3 times per 100 words on your page (once per paragraph should do).
Your page must be indexed by a search engine. Search engines have a piece of code called a spider or robot that actively seeks out web pages to crawl or index. They follow links from one web page to another trying to find as many web sites and pages as they can. Once they crawl the site, they add the page to the search engines database so it will show up in the search results. But there is a problem. Some of the auto classified web sites do not allow their classified listings to be indexed by the search engines.
The URL needs to be static and not dynamic. Pages that are driven by a database usually have dynamic URLs which include ?, =, or & as part of the full address of the page (example: www.someclassifiedsite.com/index.php?a=5&b=222). Search engine spiders have problems indexing pages that have dynamic URLs, though they are ever improving. To ensure your page does not have a problem being indexed, it must be a static URL (example: www.someclassifiedsite.com/category5-222.htm).
So, what does all this mean for you? First you should know that when you place an ad in an auto classified site, you only have control over 2-4 of the 9 criteria listed above. That makes it hard for you to give your listing an advantage over other similar listings in regards to search engine rankings. So lets take a look at the things you do have control over.
The description you write should have the correct keywords in it. For example, if you have a 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula for sale, you should ad the term 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula once every paragraph. Place the term near the beginning of each paragraph. Also, the term should be emphasized (bolded, italicized, or underlined) in the first paragraph, if the web site allows you to add HTML tags to your description. To bold a word, put <b> before it and </b> after it. To italicize a word, put <i> before it and </i> after it. To underline a word, put <u> before it and </u> after it.
Lets take another look at the sample description from step 4 in this series. Notice the HTML tags used around the keyword 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula in the first and last paragraphs. It is important not to emphasize every keyword. Only emphasize the first and last instance of the keyword in your description.
This <b>1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula</b> is in great condition. It has alloy wheels, AC, power everything, and a 6-disc changer. The T-tops are a nice addition, especially in hot weather. Even though this Firebird is 10 years old, it looks like it belongs on the showroom floor. It has flawless red paint on the exterior and a super clean black interior. A brand new automatic transmission was installed only 12 months ago, which is still under warranty.
The best feature about this 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula is the engine. It has a 5.7 Liter HO V8 that has been well maintained. It does 0-60 in a respectable 5.2 seconds and has a top speed just under 160 MPH. Accelerate and you can hear every one of the 305 horses coming through the exhaust. Any sports car enthusiast would enjoy getting behind the wheel of this one.
Dont miss this <i>1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula</i>. Its a good deal on a great car. Call today.
It is important to choose the right title for your listing, if the classifieds site you are advertising on allows you to write the listing title. The title should be rather short and include only the most important information about your vehicle. A great title should have the keywords in it that people would use to search for your car or truck. A great title should have the year, make, and model in it, for example, 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula. If your car is convertible, you should ad the word Convertible to your title.
For a list of keywords that people actually search for on the internet, go to inventory.overture.com. Simply enter the make of the vehicle and it returns the most popular keyword combinations that include that keyword as well as how many times they were searched for in the Yahoo! Network. This will give you a good indication of what people are searching for.
So how do you find an auto classified site that allows the search engines to index their classified listings, displays static URLs, allows you to control your TITLE tag, and allows you to emphasize the text in the Description field? Simple, just go to your favorite search engine and search for a popular make and model car for sale. There should be several classified listings near the top of the search results. Those classified sites are the ones that are the most search engine friendly and would be a great place to post your ad.
By properly inserting these nine page elements that are essential for high search engine placement, your listings have the opportunity to be found by potential buyers when searching the internet. This concludes the series Sell Your Car Online. I hope you learned some new techniques in online advertising. Try them out today and see how quickly your automobile will sell.

| Some Popular Repower Options for Your Favorite Equipment |
30 Jun |
Admit it. There are some pieces of equipment in your fleet that you just LIKE. It may be that old Toro Greensmaster thats served you faithfully for years, or the Toro Sand Pro that everyone calls Ol Sandy. Greens equipment hasnt changed much over the years whether its mowers, rakes, or sand groomers, they were good to go when they started, and they still are. The only thing that HAS changed is the engine.
Todays engines are quieter, more fuel efficient and far kinder to our environment. That environment part is important. In some states, fuel emissions are a growing concern so much so that many have instituted regulations for the amount of emissions that can be sent into the air. Others have set up incentive programs that encourage industry to replace diesel and gas-powered equipment with new, lower-emission equipment. So when Ol Sandy starts coughing and sputtering when you start her up first thing in the morning, you may be tempted to replace the old girl with something sharp, trim and clean-burning, even though the price tag is staggering.
Dont replace your engine repower it.
There is another way, though a way that lets you keep your old faithfuls and still have a more powerful, cleaner and quieter machine, with a price tag that can be as much as 90% less expensive. That option is to repower rather than replace.
Repower, according to one government source, means to replace an old engine with a new engine, a used engine, a remanufactured engine, or electric motors, drives, or fuel cells. It only makes sense after all, why throw the baby out with the bathwater? Ol Sandys engine may be wearing out, but the rest of her is still going strong. Why junk the old girl when you can give her a new motor and have her running good as new?
A Kohler repower kit includes everything you need to get your dependable Toro equipment working better than new. Depending on where you get the kit, you can replace the original 14 hp motor with an 18 hp motor that works harder, quieter, cleaner and for about 20% the cost of buying new.
On top of that, youll get a full two year warranty on your new engine. And if your state has an Emission Reduction program, you may actually be able to be reimbursed for all or part of the cost of repowering your equipment with a cleaner engine. Check your states web site for local information, but in most states around the U.S., if the new engine significantly reduces the NOX emissions, you may qualify for grant money to repower with a new Kohler engine.
A Kohler Engine is an original Toro part.
Repower engines from Kohler are specially designed to replace the OEM engine that your machine came with. In addition to the motor, youll get all the fittings, bolts and Toro parts you need to fit the new engine into your Toro machine.
So if your old, dependable sand groomer, rake, lawnmower, tractor or utility vehicles are becoming less and less dependable, take a serious look at the option of replacing the old, tired engine with a spanking new repowered kohler engines. You wont be sorry.

Sell Your Car Online: Step 4, Writing a Compelling Description of Your Automobile
Auto classifieds websites are some of the most powerful tools available today to help you sell your car or truck. In step 3 of this series, titled Sell Your Car Online: Step 3, Using the Right Information to Help Sell Your Automobile , you learned what information you should display about your automobile in your classified ad.
The fourth step in placing an ad is writing a compelling description of your automobile. Most auto classified web sites have an information field labeled Description in which you can type a lengthy discourse about the car or truck you have for sale. You may think that this is not needed since you already have all the important information listed in the previous info fields. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
So, what do you type in the description field? First you should quickly restate the most important information, like the make, model, and year. Then list again a few of the best accessories and options that have the most appeal. Next comes the fun part.
You should write a descriptive paragraph that includes information about your vehicle that has not been previously listed. If your car or truck has a special feature, describe it. If it has a new component, like a new engine or transmission, list it. If the vehicle has a special quality that is not noticeable in any of the photos, write about it.
For example, if your vehicle is a classic sports car that has a specialty racing engine, list the specific engine enhancements. If the vehicle is a show truck with a high end sound system, describe how the radio sounds. If the vehicle is an expensive luxury car, describe how comfortable the drivers seat feels.
The objective of the description field is to paint a clear and unique picture of your car or truck that puts the buyer in the drivers seat. The buyer should feel, hear, and see everything that sets this vehicle apart from the rest. After reading your description, the buyer should not have any doubt that this is the right vehicle for him/her to purchase.
This is a great example of a properly written description:
This 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula is in great condition.

It does 0-60 in a respectable 5.2 seconds and has a top speed just under 160 MPH. Accelerate and you can hear every one of the 305 horses coming through the exhaust. Any sports car enthusiast would enjoy getting behind the wheel of this one.
Dont miss this 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula. Its a good deal on a great car. Call today.
Notice how the description flows. Its not just a simple list, but it is written in a conversational style with wording that plays on the emotions of the buyer. It is concluded with a call-to-action, Call today.
Dont worry about the length of the description. Whether it is short or long is secondary to how enticing it is to the potential buyer. If the description is interesting enough to keep his/her attention, it could be 6 paragraphs and still be effective.
Remember this from step 3! Theres no such thing as listing too much information about your vehicle, so type away and tell as much about your car as possible. The worst thing that can happen is that the potential buyer will spend more time viewing your listing and not viewing someone elses listing.
If done correctly, writing a powerful description of your automobile can transform the viewer of your classified ad from a browser to a buyer. Look for the final installment in this series titled Sell Your Car Online: Step 5, Making Search Engines Love Your Classified Ad. Happy selling.

| Solar Powered Cars |
30 Jun |
The elements of nature have been created for man alone. Every single need can be acquired and it is present in nature around us. Man only needs to travel and explore the hidden treasures of nature and use them for the fulfillment of his basic needs of life. Something that doesn’t need any searching shines up above in the sky. The sun is the basic source of life on earth. If there was no sun no life would have been possible.
Sun emits light which is known as the solar energy and you may have heard and studied about solar energy being used for thousands of purposes. This energy has been used for heating systems and thermal power plants are run through solar energy and so on. When you read or hear about these things you simply pass on because this is too common.
When it comes to solar powered cars it is very likely that you stop and think for a while. It is a promising future prospect and you wish you live long enough to see only solar powered cars racing down the streets, no running out gas, no waiting at the filling station, no more paying for the petrol. Imagine how quickly you would be able to increase your standard of living.
Solar powered cars have been in existence since the mid of the 19th century. They have been increasing in number year by year and organizations tend to hold solar powered car racing each year and thousands of people invest their money and bet on their solar powered cars. The mechanism of these cars is very simple. The batteries installed in these light bodied cars charge themselves from the solar energy. Then this energy is converted by them into electrical energy thus it helps the motor run.
Now this prospect is very simple or more likely it sounds very simple and trouble free. The sun shines everyday and there doesn’t seem to be any such problem with these cars. But the fact is that the amount of energy stored at a time by these cars enables them to drive at a very slow pace. The road has to be leveled and not steep because that requires even more energy. It will need more powerful batteries and more storage capacity.
Have you never noticed that this is the reason why solar powered cars are small; light weighed, and can carry one person at a time? There are many technical facts that render the concept of these cars as vague.

| Solar: Will It Ever Power Our Vehicles |
29 Jun |
As solar power has matured as a technology, companies have started applying it to more than just houses. Acting as an energy platform for our transport was an obvious application.
Solar: Will It Ever Power Our Vehicles
As an active technology, one of the first uses for solar power was on NASA spacecraft. Although not used for propelling the crafts, interested parties immediately started thinking about using solar power for getting us around in our daily lives. Alas, there were so many problems with the technology, including efficiency issues, that the idea never really gained much footing. With the massive popularity of hybrid vehicles, companies and research institutes are revisiting the idea.
Vehicles getting all of their energy from the sun are not a viable option at this time or for the near future. The problem is you simply cant produce enough energy to meet the power needs. Until technology is developed to make the sunlight conversion process much more efficient, there really is not an answer to the problem. This technological advance, however, may not be far away.
Quantum dots are a form of nanotechnology that is being developed by numerous companies for solar power applications. This technology essentially tries to create tiny solar robots to convert the sunlight to energy. Millions fit within small areas and the hope is the efficiency conversion rate will go through the roof. The companies are looking to create a platform where the robots would exist in paint. Yep, the paint on your home and car may eventually produce all the energy needed.
In the meantime, solar power applications are being developed with a focus on hybrids. The basic idea is to use solar power to provide energy to the batteries powering the hybrid cars. Put another way, it is a step towards the ultimate goal. Honda does not discuss its research, but is believed to have built a facility solely for this purpose and is dumping money into it hand over foot.
The creation of viable solar vehicles is dependent on the advances of the underlying technology. Solar hybrids should be on the market relatively quickly. The big breakthrough, however, will be when viable commercial applications are developed using nanotechnology.

| Sell Your Car Online: Step 3, Using the Right Information |

Sell Your Car Online: Step 3, Using the Right Information to Help Sell Your Automobile
Posting your automobile for sale online is a great way to attract potential buyers. In step 2 of this series, titled Sell Your Car Online: Step 2, Using Pictures of Your Automobile Correctly , you learned how to select the right pictures of your vehicle for display in the classified ad.
The third step in placing an ad is selecting what information you want to use in your listing. Most auto classified web sites have information fields that are either checkboxes or blank textboxes for short answers. Heres the danger. If you dont give enough information, you may lose potential buyers. They may think that the missing information is an attempt to hide whats wrong with your car or truck. The solution is to answer ALL information fields that are applicable to your vehicle.
So, what type of information do you display with your listing? The most important information that must be included in your listing is: make, model, year, mileage, engine type, and transmission type. When searching for a car or truck to buy, especially a used car or truck, this is the information that the potential buyer must know before taking the next step, contacting the seller. This information will determine whether the buyer is even interested in the vehicle to begin with.
Secondary information which should be included in your listing is: body style, drive train, and VIN number. You should always include the body style (2dr, 4dr, SUV, truck, etc.) and drive train (FWD, RWD, 4WD, etc.) in your listings. It is a great idea to also include the VIN number. A growing percentage of buyers and dealers are using CarFax.com to gain information about vehicles. If the buyer is serious about purchasing your car, he/she can research the VIN number through CarFax.com without the added inconvenience of calling you first.
Next in the line of important information are the accessories or options your vehicle has. This is the information that can separate your vehicle from the rest of the pack. List all the options your vehicle has. Whether it has power windows, CD player, ABS brakes, DVD player, or a power sun roof, the buyer needs to know the accessories or options on your vehicle. List them all. Even if the classified ad system you use doesnt list the accessories in a selectable list, include them in the description field.
You must not forget to include your contact information. List your address as well as your phone number. If the buyer is interested in your vehicle, he/she could call or drop by for a test drive if close enough.
As a summary, you should include the following in your classified ad (listed in order of importance):
– Contact address and phone number
– Make
– Model
– Year
– Mileage
– Engine type
– Transmission type
– Body style
– Drive train
– VIN number
– Accessories or options
Theres no such thing as listing too much information about your vehicle, so type away and tell as much about your car or truck as possible. The worst thing that can happen is that the potential buyer will spend more time viewing your listing and less time viewing someone elses listing. Isnt that what you want?
Choosing the right information for your classified ad can set your automobile apart from the rest of the pack, at least in the buyers mind. Look for the next installment titled Sell Your Car Online: Step 4, Writing a Compelling Description of Your Automobile. Happy selling.

| Skoda Booking Test Drives For New Roomster |
29 Jun |
Skoda is booking test drives for its latest model, the Roomster, due to launch this Autumn.
As the new name implies, the Roomster has been designed to accommodate families and luggage in space by utilising a rear seat system called Varioflex, which allows “seemingly endless” seating permutations. With a full load of passengers, the Roomster is able to hold 450 litres of luggage, an amount that increases to a massive 1,780 litres when the seats have been removed.
With off the road prices ranging from a low 9,920 for the 1.2 12V Roomster 1 to 14,050 for the Roomster 3, buyers can expect an affordable yet high quality vehicle, if Skoda’s list of accolades for previous models is anything to go by.
The car will have class-leading car insurance groupings, with the 1.2-litre model only being banded in group 2E, according to New Car Net.
The frugality of its car insurance premiums will be aided by its economical engine sizes as well a host of safety features that Skoda describes as short only of “being entirely wrapped in cotton wool”.
Standard safety features include four airbags, ISOFIX child seat clips, while primary safety is provided by ABS braking.
Further optional extras include head airbags which will protect passengers from side-on or combined impacts.
Also enhancing its class-leading car insurance credentials are the Roomster’s security features, with the Roomster 1 model including central locking and an immobiliser. The more expensive Roomster 2 and 3 models feature an alarm and remote central locking capabilities too.
Entertainment for all the family is provided with a four-speaker stereo system with a radio and single CD player with MP3 abilities as well as a jack input for external MP3 players.
The Skoda Roomster will compete with other roomy family cars in the 10,000 bracket, such as the Citroen Berlingo Multispace, Renault Kangoo and Fiat Doblo.

Sell Your Car Online: Step 2, Using Pictures of Your Automobile Correctly
Selling your car or truck online is a great way to put it in front of potential buyers. In step one of this series, titled Sell Your Car Online: Step 1, Taking High Quality Pictures of Your Automobile, you learned how to take great quality pictures of our vehicle.
The second step in placing an ad is selecting the pictures of the vehicle you want to use in your listing. Remember the hypothetical situation from step 1? Using multiple pictures in your listing can give the potential buyer loads of information about your vehicle before the buyer even reads the first word about it.
You must choose the correct combination of pictures to display with your listing for maximum effect. If you followed the directions in step 1, you should have at least 15 to 20 pictures to choose from. Group the pictures into categories depending on the angle (for example: front, left, rear, right, front right, rear left, under the hood, interior, etc.). Then select the best picture from each category and discard the rest.
Now you should have a group of about 7 to 10 high quality pictures. Comb through these pictures and select the ones that, if displayed together, would show the most detail about your vehicle. The goal is not to overwhelm the potential buyer with tons of photos showing the same details, but to display great photos of different areas of the vehicle that convey the overall condition of the vehicle.
A great example of photos to use is: front drivers side, rear passengers side, under the hood, interior, and any after market add-ons to the car. You should use at least 4 photos with each listing, but feel free to use more.
After you select the correct photos, you need to edit them. Most auto classified web sites have a maximum file size for photos you can upload with your listings. The highest quality settings for digital cameras can be anywhere from 1 MB to 5 MB per photo and greater depending on the camera. So what do you do if the photos you take exceed that size? You have to edit or resize them. But before you do that, you need to know how images are displayed on computer monitors as opposed to print.
High quality images displayed on the web are actually low quality when printed. Computer monitors display images at 72 DPI. A good quality printing will be 300 DPI or greater. A photo displayed on a monitor at 600 pixels (8.33 inches) wide will only be 2 inches wide if printed on paper. To get a good quality 8.33 inch print on paper, the photo will need to be at least 2500 pixels wide. This is a big difference in file size (and download time).
The optimal size for photos on the internet is approximately 600 pixels wide by 400 pixels high. If your camera cant take pictures this size, even in the lowest quality setting, you will have to manually resize them. To do this you need an image editing program. Most computers have at least a simple image editing program on them. If your computer doesnt have one, youll need to download one from the internet. You can find free and low cost image editing programs by going to www.download.com and searching for image editing software.
However, you can skip the image editing step if you find a car classifieds site, like VINclassifieds.com, that automatically resizes the photos upon upload so they are the optimal size for the internet. This could eliminate the need for you to manually resize your photos before upload.
Choose the right pictures for your classified ad and viewers will set up and take notice. Look for the next installment titled Sell Your Car Online: Step 3, Using the Right Information to Help Sell Your Automobile. Happy selling.
